The
impressive Kerb 69, captured beautifully as it was lit by sunlight
from the side, depicts what some commentators have described as
a sunrise.
Crescent
moons? This stone is located on the southern side of the kerb
at Knowth. See photos of the Knowth decorated
kerbstones.
"I
visited that glorious dome that stands by the dark rolling waters
of the Boyne, Where Aongus Og magnificently dwells." - Newgrange
by Raymond Balfe.
Moonlight
penetrates the passage of Dowth south. Dowth is said to be the
grave of Boann, the "bright cow", the Moon goddess.
Sunset
viewed from the top of Dowth on August 21, 2001. The distant hill
peak is the Hill of Slane,
where St Patrick lit Ireland's first paschal fire.
