Myself and Richard are planning another mini festival of sorts to mark the Summer Solstice festival at Millmount, the mythical burial place of Amergin, located in Drogheda, Co. Louth. We plan to hold it on Sunday afternoon, June 19th (the closest weekend to the 21st!) at around 3pm in the afternoon. There will be music, dancing and poetry readings.

For more about Millmount and its connection with the Hill of Tara, read the following:

Wow, sounds good. :D We are going to the Druids Summer Solstice at Tara, but we will arrive a bit earlier in Ireland. Perhaps we will come to the festival on the 19th. How do we get there, what time does it start and can we camp there? :?

Love and Light,

Nancy & Nick ( Holland)

Millmount is in Drogheda, Co. Louth, just five miles from where Newgrange is located. Drive up the M1 motorway from Dublin for about 30 miles and that's us! Millmount is a circular tower-like monument overlooking the town and easy to find. Unfortunately I don't think there are any campsites nearby, but there's plenty of good B&Bs in the district!

I apologise for not informing visitors of the cancellation of the Summer Solstice event at Millmount, which did not go ahead because there were other large events on in the town.

However, I did meet some very interesting people at Millmount, including Nancy and Nick from Holland, also Professor Ron Hicks ( a henge expert and very progressive individual) and his student, Randy, whom I had met at the Knowth site M dig a couple of years back. The weather was beautiful, ideal for a festival if it had gone ahead!!

I'm hoping to meet Nancy and Nick up at the Hill of Tara on Tuesday for the annual Summer Solstice festival there, if any of you want to meet me . . .
