CELTIC TALES fundraiser for RNLI Lifeboats

The summer season of the CELTIC TALES storytelling sessions begins on Wednesday 29th April in the Cottage Bar, Lower Salthill. The first show, on the 29th April, will be a fundraiser for the RNLI Lifeboats, and will feature sea stories told by award winning storyteller Rab Swannock Fulton, and music from Galway’s very own Barbershop choir ‘The Bay Tones’.

Galway’s Lifeboat crews provide an essential service for everyone living in Galway city and along the coast and on the islands. Galway Bay is in constant use by people swimming or sailing for sport or for pleasure; by boats transporting goods and people from the mainland to the islands; by fisherman in their trawlers or by people simply picking cockles from the shore. The safety of all these people depends on the courage and dedication of the Lifeboat crew. The 29th April session of CELTIC TALES will allow locals and visitors alike to show their appreciation for the RNLI, as well as having a great night out. The show begins in The Cottage Bar at 8pm, price 10 euro. RTÉ will be there to film a piece for its Nationwide programme. All welcome!

The CELTIC TALES sessions then continue every Wednesday evening through out the summer, with the last show taking place on the 30th September. As well as his favourite tales, Rab will be working with actor and director Fionnuala Gallagher to put together new stories for Rab to tell about murder, lust, ghosts, battles and trickery.
