Hello everybody
Astronomy Day is a worldwide combination of many events to bring astronomy to people
everywhere, in order to share the wonders of the night sky.
Attached is the poster for our Astronomy Day Event in aid of UNICEF Ireland, if you can attend great, if you can influence the weather gods for clear skies even better, and if you would like to donate a little something you can at
www.unicef.ie mark your donation Look Up for UNICEF.
Funds raised will go to UNICEF's programmes for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
A child here in Ireland looks up at the same moon as a child suffering in some needy part of this planet. We are united by the same sky as we move through space on this beautiful orb.
Weather permitting we hope help people to look up and view our moon and perhaps some other lovely planets on International Astronomy Day 2007.
We almost always do these public star parties over two evenings in case the weather defeats us. April 21st is official International Astronomy Day worldwide,so we give you two chances to attend. This is part of a public outreach initiative by The Astronomical League i.e. the largest organisation for amateur astronomers in the world.
This is a free event but a little donation to UNICEF is invited.
Perhaps you could forward this to people who you know are interested.
This event is totally weather dependant so fingers crossed.
Regards
Deirdre
