Armagh Observatory reports that the weather in May was slightly warmer and much sunnier and wetter than average.

The mean monthly temperature was 11.2 degrees Celsius (52.2 degrees Fahrenheit), that is, 0.4 of a degree C higher than average. The maximum temperature recorded was 23.1 degrees C on 31st. There were 6 nights with grass frost and no nights with air frost.

The number of hours of sunshine was 202.5, that is, about 17% higher than the average for May.

Precipitation amounted to 77.7 mm (3.06 inches), that is, about 28% higher than the monthly average.
