On a somewhat serious, and personal, note, I need help.
I've been suffering with Irritable Bowel Syndrome for about five years. About two and a half years ago, I lost lots of weight and developed other symptoms, such as anxiety and dizziness. I still suffer from these symptoms, on and off. In the last couple of weeks, they've been really bad.
In 2003, I went on a detox diet, a kind of anti-Candida diet, which was very restrictive, and ruled out all sorts of nice foods like bread, sugar, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol and basically anything that tasted good!!
It seemed to work as my symptoms improved, although I never regained any weight.
Last year I was told I could be suffering from something called Gut Fermentation or Fermentation of the Gut. Basically this involves yeast and sugar coming together in the small intestine and causing problems. I don't know if I have malabsorption as well, but blood tests came up clear. My pulse fluctuates around 60, but can be as low as 48. I'm told that makes me healthy, but I'm suspicious.
This bowel problem can lead to serious effects such as lack of concentration, exhaustion and severe dizziness. In the last week, I've regularly felt like I was on a ship and that the ground was bobbing up and down beneath my feet. The room spins at times too. And I'm black under the eyes.
I've been eating normally recently. Perhaps that's adding to it. The only thing I've permanently excluded from my diet, as far as I possibly can, is yeast. So no white bread or most bread products, and lots of soups and sauces and crisps and beer etc. But if there's still candida, sugar could be causing chaos, so I'll have to give that up again too. Back to the Stone Age diet. I think they call it the Caveman Diet.
Anyway, if anyone can give me any advice or help, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Anthony.
