The weather was not kind at Loughcrew this morning for the equinox sunrise. It was very foggy at Carnbane East where, on a clear morning, we would have seen the sunlight illuminating the back stone of Cairn T. On this occasion, we could hardly see 20 feet in front of us! It was cold, wet and miserable.

However, there were some interesting people up there and myself, Richard Moore and photographer Ken Williams enjoyed conversing and telling stories with a man called Michael Ryan and a group of his friends. Michael offered me a drop of port to warm the blood when we came back down the hill and it was most welcome!

Afterwards, we retired to the restaurant at Loughcrew Gardens where porridge, scrambled eggs and homemade bread were accompanied by cups of tea.

Of course as usual I took plenty of photographs, which I will post in due course!

Anthony,

Great pictures at Cairn T! The fog seems to have helped to create a special atmosphere.
