Gulf Air inaugural Dublin-Bahrain flight, Dec. 2, 2005
Gulf Air flight GF024 rotates off Runway 10 at Dublin Airport on a cold and damp Friday morning, December 2nd, 2005. This was the inaugural flight from Dublin to Bahrain, and at the controls of this beautiful Airbus A330 (A4O-KC) was former 2FM DJ Barry Lang, who is now a full-time pilot for Gulf Air. The company will operate thrice-weekly flights between the two cities.
The beautiful gold, blue and white A330 climbs off RWY10 towards a brighter, warmer and sunnier climate in the Middle East! The only other regular A330s to be seen every week at Dublin Airport are those used by Aer Lingus for its long-haul routes. In addition LTU uses another beautiful A330 on occasion for freight services.
The giant Gulf Air airbus dwarfs a British Midlands (BMI) Airbus A321 as it taxis away from the stand towards the bravo taxiway for take-off from Runway 10. In the background are a Boeing 767-400 (Continental), an Airbus A330 (Aer Lingus) and a Boeing 767-300 (American Airlines).
