Airplanes on the UL70 air route, Ireland |
| This is a collection of photos of aircraft cruising over Ireland on the Upper Air Route UL70, which is a major air traffic route taking traffic out of Europe and across the North Atlantic tracks. It connects BAGSO over the Irish Sea with DEVOL out in the Atlantic. |
| This is clearly an Emirates plane, because it has "Emirates" emblazoned on its underbelly. It is a Boeing 777-300ER. |
| I know this is a 747, but I'm not sure of the airline. If you recognise it, drop us a line at the email address at the bottom of the page. My friends on the IFSD forums tell me it's a KLM, and I'll go with that! |
| My guess is this is a Lufthansa 747-400. |
| I think this is a 757. Note the winglets. I guess this might be a Continental? |
| An unidentified 767 heading west on the UL70 on a bright spring afternoon. |
| I think this might be a Malev 767. Note the distinctive navy blue on the rear fuselage and also the spot on its nose. |
| I imagine this is a Lufthansa Airbus A330-300. |
| Another A330 heading west on the UL70 in early March. |
| Gemini Cargo DC10 / MD-11 westbound, 5/4/2007. |
| Lufthansa Cargo MD-11, westbound, evening, April 5th 2007. |
| A First Choice 767-300ER. |
| This is a 767. Initially I thought it might be a British Airways plane, but am not sure. |
| This is definitely a British Airways 767. |
| This is an Air Canada A340-300. This is one of a sequence of five or six shots, some of which show the maple leaf symbol on the tailfin zoomed in. |
| A United Airlines Boeing 767 westbound on the UL70. This was the first of two in a row, but the second wasn't as good because the heat in the air caused the image to distort. |
| This is a Star Alliance Airbus A340-300, and I suspect it's a Lufthansa. |
| This is definitely a Boeing 747, and my friends at the IFSD forums are fairly sure it's another KLM. |
| An unidentified 747 coming east. He seemed to turn left towards GELKI. My friends at IFSD think this is an Evergreen International Cargo 747-200. A few minutes later, he did a turning manoeuvre which looked like this! |
| An initially unidentified MD-11 westbound on the UL70. Conditions were so good, I could almost make out the reg! Update: It appears this is most likely to be PH-KCD, a KLM MD-11 called "Florence Nightingale". |
| This is clearly a KLM 747, with no contrails, climbing on the UL70 heading west between BAGSO and NAVAN. |
An unidentified Airbus A310 with the glint of the sun as it heads towards the Atlantic over Ireland. 9th April, 14.15 local time. Update: My friends on the IFSD forums have identified this as an Air Transat A310. Thanks a million guys!
