Images of airplanes - a different approach!

Jumbo Jet at high altitude
One thing I find myself doing quite regularly since developing an interest in airplanes is pointing my long lens at the skies above and trying to capture the many trans-Atlantic flights which pass over Ireland. This is an unidentified plane, an Airbus A340 or perhaps a Boeing 747 at high altitude on its way westward across Ireland. It is almost certainly an A340, and probably a Lufthansa plane. As it happens, I took a photo of a Lufthansa A340 at Munich Airport (see below). Click here to see a larger view of the above image..

A Lufthansa Airbus A340 at Munich Airport, Germany. This one, D-AIHA, is an A340-642.

Another A340 flying east over Dublin on a bright and warm summer's day. Identifying the airline in this case would be a task and a half!
