Those of you who enjoyed the Mythical Ireland film with Sligo wood carver and storyteller Michael Quirke will probably know that I have for a long time now been planning to make a series of such films.
Well I'm delighted to reveal to you that my next film will feature Michael Slavin, author of The Book of Tara and The Ancient Books of Ireland, and proprietor of the Old Book Shop on the Hill of Tara.
I spent the day on Tuesday with Michael today in his old bookshop deep in conversation, all recorded for the next episode in this film series. Michael, at age 91, is a wise old sage – a man of deep knowledge with a fascinating story to tell.
The film will be edited by my good friend, the film maker Grant Wakefield, who was responsible for cameras, lights and sound in today's shoot. The film will be released for Mythical Ireland patrons at the Bronze Age level and above.
